Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University as on or before August 1, 2025.
  • Stenography Skills: Candidates must possess stenography skills (100 w.p.m. for Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for Grade D). No separate shorthand or typing certificate is required, but candidates must demonstrate proficiency during the Skill Test.

Nationality

  • Candidates must be Indian nationals or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries (e.g., Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, etc.) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Selection Process

The SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025 involves two stages:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE):
    • Format: Objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
    • Sections:
      • General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 questions, 50 marks)
      • General Awareness (50 questions, 50 marks)
      • English Language & Comprehension (100 questions, 100 marks)
    • Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for visually handicapped candidates).
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Languages: Questions are set in English and Hindi, except for the English Language section.
    • Normalization: Applied if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.
  2. Skill Test in Stenography:
    • Candidates shortlisted from the CBE (based on merit) will appear for the Skill Test.
    • Format: Candidates are given a 10-minute dictation in English or Hindi at:
      • 100 w.p.m. for Grade C.
      • 80 w.p.m. for Grade D.
    • The dictation must be transcribed on a computer within the stipulated time.
    • The Skill Test is qualifying in nature and does not contribute to the final merit list.
    • Exemptions: PwBD candidates with specific disabilities may be exempt from the Skill Test, subject to government guidelines.
  3. Document Verification:
    • Final selection is based on CBE performance and preferences submitted during document verification.

  2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process if not already registered. Keep your Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Matriculation details handy.
  3. Log in with your Registration ID and Password.
  4. Click on the “Apply” link under “Stenographer Grade C and D Examination, 2025” in the ‘Live Exam’ tab.
  5. Fill in all personal, educational, and contact details accurately.
  6. Upload a recent passport-size photograph (colored, white/light background, not older than 3 months, 20–50 KB in JPEG format) and a scanned signature (10–20 KB in JPEG format).
