A. Offered by AllIndiaPress.com:

  • Any gifts or hospitality to sources/officials must:
    ✓ Be nominal in value (e.g., press conference refreshments)
    ✓ Serve a clear professional purpose
    ✓ Withstand public scrutiny if disclosed

B. Received by Staff:

  • Strictly prohibited:
    ✓ Cash, luxury items, or travel benefits from news subjects
    ✓ Gifts exceeding ₹2,000 in value (per DNPA guidelines)
  • Permitted with disclosure:
    ✓ Token promotional items (e.g., branded notebooks)
    ✓ Meals during interviews (must be reciprocated or reported)

Example violation: Accepting a smartphone from a politician being profiled.

3. Accuracy & Fairness

  • Verify information from multiple credible sources before publication.
  • Distinguish clearly between facts, opinions, and speculation.
  • Issue prompt corrections for errors (see our Correction Policy).

4. Impartiality & Independence

  • Avoid conflicts of interest (political, financial, or personal).
  • Label sponsored/paid content as “Advertisement” or “Partnered”.
  • Refuse gifts/favors that could compromise editorial integrity.

5. Privacy & Sensitivity

  • Protect the identities of vulnerable sources (whistleblowers, victims of crime/abuse).
  • Avoid intrusive coverage of private tragedies unless in the public interest.
  • Comply with Indian laws on court reporting (e.g., rape victim anonymity under Sec. 228A IPC).

6. Hate Speech & Discrimination

  • Do not publish content that:
    ✓ Incites violence or hatred against communities
    ✓ Promotes caste/religious/gender-based stereotypes
    ✓ Violates IT Rules, 2021 provisions on prohibited content

7. Transparency & Accountability

  • Disclose ownership/funding interests that may influence coverage.
  • Provide the right of reply to individuals/organizations criticized in reports.
  • Maintain a public grievance redressal system (see Section 7).

8. Intellectual Property

  • Respect copyrights: Use only licensed images/videos or public domain material.
  • Attribute all third-party content properly.
  • Follow fair use guidelines for excerpts.
